How do we celebrate Bastille Day or French National
Day?
Bastille Day is commemorated
with a military parade in Paris attended by President of the Republic,
currently Emmanuel Macron, and other political leaders. Some 4,000 soldiers, police, firefighters and various military academies take part in the spectacle on Paris's famous Champs-Élysées.
Flags of
blue, white and red fly everywhere, but especially on the Champs-Élysées in
Paris where the large Bastille Day Military Parade is filled with cadet,
infantry, motorized and mounted troops. They march from l’Arc de Triomphe to
Place de la Concorde. Allied troops also march in the parade. The sky is busy
with airforce aerobatic displays.
Elsewhere in France,
