Women's History Month, in March, is an annual declared month that
highlights the contributions of women to events in history and their
accomplishments throughout history and in contemporary society.
Growing out of a small-town school event in California, Women’s History
Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and
society. The United States has observed it annually throughout the month of
March since 1987.
Happy
Women’s History Month! It is a pleasure to celebrate this month with you,
especially alongside the initiatives of Super Professeur, Ronald
Tintin, and the Ronning Against Cancer project.
As we

The Evolution of Women’s History Month
The
journey from a local celebration to a national observance is a testament to the

1978: It began as "Women’s History Week" in
Santa Rosa, California, timed to coincide with International Women’s Day.

1980: President Jimmy Carter issued the first
Presidential Proclamation declaring the week of March 8th as National Women’s
History Week.

Women’s History Project, Congress passed Public Law 100-9, designating the
entire month of March as Women’s History Month.
